Champions of Wales

YMCA Cardiff and Plan International UK have recently launched a new and exciting project; Champions of Wales. Champions of Wales aims to make Wales a safer, more inclusive place for girls, addressing gender inequality at the very heart of our communities through localised action and youth-led activity. Through attending issue based workshops young people who become involved with this project will be empowered and able to speak out about issues that affect them, provided with the opportunities to make new friends, attend residential trips, and apply for funding to develop a campaign to tackle issues raised during the workshops and make a visible difference in their community. A Youth Steering Group will also recruit young people from across Wales who are passionate about girls’ rights and want to play a more active role in championing gender equality.
