YMCA Cardiff Group is committed to promoting and raising awareness of young carers and those in unpaid caring roles.

YMCA Cardiff Group has supported Young Carers and Young Adult Carers aged 7-25 across Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan since 2008.  We currently work in partnership with Cardiff Council Support4Families.  We commit to promoting and raising awareness of young carers and young adult carers in Cardiff & The Vale. We aim to identify, engage, support & empower young carers and young adult carers. Our project teams provide support and services alongside that much needed respite from the caring role of young people.

YMCA Cardiff Group also understands that our staff and service users may also hold unpaid caring roles, we are keen to recognise the significant impact of caring on our people.  Therefore as an association, YMCA Cardiff Group commits to raising awareness of caring issues amongst its staff and service users, supporting our people where we can and empowering unpaid carers across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.

If you think you or anyone you know may be an unpaid carer and have any questions regarding unpaid carers of any age and their rights or would like any more information about support and services that may be available to them please contact Bethany Riley (YMCA Cardiff Young Carers Champions).
