Vale of Glamorgan Young Carers Project

The young carers project in the Vale of Glamorgan has been run by the YMCA since November 2014 and is currently supporting almost 55 young carers across the County.

The aim of the project is to support and help young people aged 7-18 years old who has a caring role  at home for a parent, sibling or grandparent who may be effected by an illness, disability, mental health or drug and alcohol misuse. We provide a service where young people are able to receive 1-2-1 support and  regular respite activities for the young people to have a break from their role at home.
