Young Adult Carers Project Worker (Vale)

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join us.

RESPONSIBLE TO: Senior Project Worker

HOURS: 37.5 hours per week, to work between the hours of 9am – 10pm Monday to Sunday, (flexibility is expected to suit the needs of the project and young people).

SALARY: £22,700 per annum

CONTRACT: Temporary until March 2022 (subject to continuous funding)

  2. Encourage children and young people to broaden their horizons to be
    effective citizens.
  3. To support children & young people in their understanding of risk and
    challenge.
  4. Support children and young people to identify and achieve aims so that
    they may reach their full potential.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB: To provide a support service for young adult carers across Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan, working in partnership with statutory and voluntary professionals to ensure young adult carers are identified, supported, and recognised as equal partners in care. Provide direct 1-2-1 support to young adult carers through advocating on their behalf for the undertaking of care assessments/support plans, benefit checks, form filling, listening by ear service or by any other means that supports the needs of individual carers. Support young adult carers to access education, training and employment opportunities, finance, health and well-being, social networks, confidence, and self-esteem. Ensure that young adult carers receive support to negotiate and confidently access the world of adult services (social care, health, and carer support services).
