Through our Welsh Government Innovation funded Masculinity Project, YMCA Cardiff’s SHOT service engaged over 500 boys and young men to explore masculinity, relationships, and the messages they encounter online. Their insights helped shape a digital campaign and highlighted the need for more open conversations.

Constant pressure, opinions and influences – sometimes it can feel hard to know what’s right or who to talk to.

But one thing we learned from our positive masculinity sessions is that more boys are talking about this stuff than you might think.

With boys and young men across Cardiff and the Vale, we’ve explored a range of topics centred around what is healthy  and positive masculinity.

These sessions gave boys and young men the opportunity to reflect, ask questions and learn in a safe, supportive space.
