At YMCA Cardiff, our dedicated team works tirelessly to support young people on their journey towards independence. Claire Hands, our Lead Youth Housing Support Officer, plays a crucial role in helping 17-25-year-olds, including Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) and refugees, to build stable futures.
From providing one-to-one support and life skills workshops to assisting with housing, healthcare, and education, Claire’s work makes a real difference. She helps young people navigate challenges, whether it’s securing refugee status, developing confidence, or gaining essential skills for independent living.
💬 “Watching a young person flourish, overcome challenges, and take steps towards a brighter future is what makes this job so special.” – Claire
Claire has been part of YMCA Cardiff for 6.5 years, and her dedication continues to change lives.
