At YMCA Cardiff, our dedicated team works tirelessly to support young people on their journey towards independence. Claire Hands, our Lead Youth Housing Support Officer, plays a crucial role in helping 17-25-year-olds, including Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) and refugees, to build stable futures.
From providing one-to-one support and life skills workshops to assisting with housing, healthcare, and education, Claire’s work makes a real difference. She helps young people navigate challenges, whether it’s securing refugee status, developing confidence, or gaining essential skills for independent living.

Healthy Relationships Project Worker
Fixed Term to 31st March 2027 Salary: £27,670.50 Hours per week 37.5 9am – 10pm, Monday to Sunday (flexibility required) After completing probation, employees can move to a 4-day working week on full salary
Young Carers Project Worker

Youth Worker
PT 8.5 hours per week Tuesday & Thurs evening 4pm - 8pm Fixed Term 6 months £14.19 per hour Must hold a minimum level 3 in youth and community.
